About me

I'm Anja, an illustrator who creates worlds full of color, stories, and playfulness. My illustrations encourage curiosity, creativity, and smiles, and each one tells its own little story.

I completed my master's degree at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana , where for my final project, in collaboration with two speech therapists, I created a speech therapy picture book , Hello, Monkeys!. Today, the picture book is a useful tool for both professionals working with children and parents who enjoy reading together with their kids.

I have developed my love for connecting the visual with the educational through numerous projects:

• I created an original ABC memory game with the alphabet (in Slovenian and English), which is also used by educators and speech therapists in their work due to its didactic value.

• For the project Lakhonočnice (A1 Slovenia), I illustrated numerous visual images of audio fairy tales that accompany children to a peaceful sleep.

• I collaborated with the Center for Psychodiagnostic Tools , for which I illustrated specialized speech therapy and pedagogical aids.

• I illustrated and designed the multilingual memory game Get to Know Prekmurje for the Pomurje Hungarian Self-Governing National Community.

In the meantime, I illustrated and designed several children's picture books, and during my studies, I also gained valuable experience by leading children's workshops at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) , where I prepared art materials and enjoyed the creative energy of children.

Today, in my studio, I create new educational games and illustrate books to order with a love for detail. I design each project by hand and with the thought of how the illustration will appeal to the child.
